Becker Quality
Becker Homes-What makes a “solid” home:
- We soak in the backfill around the foundations and the sewer, water, and gas line trenches. That way, these areas won’t settle as much later, after you have landscaped.
- Brad likes to use vinyl sliding windows in
the basement walls with insulated glass. These are much nicer than the metal, single pane, utility windows used by others. The upper floors in a Becker Home have good quality “Caradco” casement windows. These windows seal up tight when you close them and grab the breeze when they’re open.
- Look at how the basement is laid out in a Becker Home. Brad puts a lot of thought into the future use of the basement as living space.
- You can’t beat a gas furnace or range for efficiency and instant heat. And the quick recovery on a water heater is nice. This is a little more expensive, but makes for comfortable living for years to come.
- TJI floor joists- You will recognize them by what appears to be a 2x2 top and bottom of a piece of “plywood”. Stronger than 2x10’s, perfectly straight and engineered to be one piece from wall to wall. This product in combination with “glued and screwed” sub flooring makes it very unlikely that your home will have any squeaks in the floor.
- Our insulating subcontractor (Lincoln Insulation) takes the extra time to seal all wall penetrations with spray foam and they make sure they get insulation behind every wall outlet and they stuff insulation around every window. All the floor edges are insulated. “Tyvek” on the exterior walls keeps the wind out but, let’s vapor escape from the wall cavity. These are the kind of things that you might never see, but make for comfortable living for years after you have moved in.
- Roof trusses are the only way to go. They are strong, straight and engineered to take on the wind and snow loads of Nebraska.
- All the downspouts on a Becker Home are commercial sized- This helps prevent " ice dams" in the gutters in the winter and they shouldn't get backed up with leaves.
- All the bedrooms come with ceiling fans which are controlled by a separate switch. This circulates the heat in winter and keeps things cooler in the summer.
- The kitchens come with "under cabinet" lighting. This is easy on the eyes because it only sheds light on what you're doing.
-
- Every phase of construction is personally inspected by Brad.
These are the some of the things that set a Becker Home apart from the others. Some of these things you will be able to see as you compare homes by different builders. Some items you cannot see. Because of details like these, we know you will be happy with your new home by Becker Construction.
" It does not take any more time or effort to build with quality. Its simply a matter of doing things right, the first time."
